Interafval is the network of all (inter)municipal waste management organisations responsible for household waste management in Flanders (Belgium). Interafval was established in 1996. Interafval defends the interests of the municipalities and their intermunicipal waste management organisations, provides them with technical, legal and policy advise and shares knowledge amongst their members. The waste management approach in Flanders with a clear framework from the Flemish government in combination with a strong tailor-made approach by municipalities is internationally recognized as a good practice.
