What is the ISWA World Congress 2026?
The ISWA World Congress 2026 is the flagship global event for professionals in resources and waste management, circular economy and sustainability. It brings together industry leaders, policymakers, academics and innovators from around the world to share knowledge, make connections and shape solutions to move the world beyond waste.
When and where is the event taking place?
The ISWA World Congress will take place in London, UK, from 9-11 November 2026.
Who should attend?
The Congress is open to anyone with an interest in sustainable resources and waste management and circular economy, including professionals from public and private sectors, researchers, consultants, local authorities and NGOs.

The theme for the 2026 Congress is:

The programme will focus on five key areas: human rights, political commitment, waste planning, the economics of waste and resource management, and circular economy.

Are there any special prices available?
Yes, we are offering special pricing for early bookings on tickets purchased before 24th April 2026, as well as reduced fees for CIWM and ISWA members, students and delegates from developing nations.
What is included in the registration fee?
Your ticket includes access to all plenary and breakout sessions, including refreshments and lunches during the three-day Congress programme, as well as the welcome drinks reception, closing ceremony and exhibition area.
Additional booking is required to attend the Gala Dinner and Technical Tours.
Can I register on the day of the event?
Yes, subject to availability. We strongly recommend registering in advance to secure your place and avoid higher on-site fees.
Travel & Accommodation
Where is the venue located?
The 2026 World Congress will be hosted at the QEII Centre in Westminster, central London. Full details of the venue are available here.
Are there recommended hotels nearby?

Is there a special rate for accommodation?

Do I need a visa to attend?
If you’re travelling to London from outside the UK, you may need a Standard Visitor visa or an electronic travel authorisation (ETA). We recommend checking the latest visa requirements before booking your travel. You can find detailed information about UK visas and check your eligibility here.
Will transportation be provided between the venue and hotels?
Transportation between the Congress venue and hotels will not be provided, however, the QEII Centre is centrally located and benefits from excellent transport links. It is easily accessible by foot, London Underground, bus, bike or taxi, depending on your location and preference.
Transportation will be arranged for all delegates participating in Technical Tours. Full details, including pick-up points and schedules, will be available upon booking.

When will the programme be available?

How do I apply to be a speaker or submit a paper?
Abstract submissions for the 2026 ISWA World Congress are now closed. Everyone who has submitted an abstract will be contacted by 3rd July 2026 to confirm if their submission has been successful.
What kind of sessions will there be?
The programme will include keynote addresses, panel discussions, technical tours, workshops and networking opportunities.

Sustainability
Is the event environmentally sustainable?
We are committed to delivering a low-impact event. This includes prioritising digital materials, avoiding single-use items, reducing food waste and water consumption, and working with environmentally-conscious suppliers.
How can I contribute to the event’s sustainability goals?
We encourage delegates and exhibitors to travel by public transport wherever possible, bring reusable water bottles and coffee cups, and opt for digital over printed materials.

Is the venue accessible?
Yes, from step-free meeting and conference rooms with permanent induction loops to accessible toilet facilities, forecourt parking and personal evacuation plans, the QEII Centre is committed to ensuring the ISWA World Congress is accessible to everyone.

Is there support for visa applications?

Will sessions be available in languages other than English?
All Congress sessions will be conducted in English.
Will the event be live-streamed or recorded for remote access?
The 2026 Congress is planned as an in-person event. We’re currently exploring online access options for select sessions, and details will be made available in due course.
